Democracy
As far as our current programmes are
concerned, 2013 being an electoral year in Cameroon, pregnant with three major
elections, the Cameroon Association of Media Professionals has been committed
in providing information on the Cameroon Electoral code to local communities.
We do these through periodic
publications in major newspapers and well as run programmes on Community Radio
stations.
Still in line with our democracy and
governance area, CAMP is the a
Coordinating Member of Volunteers for Democracy and Peace for the South West
Region of Cameroon and we are responsible for ensuring that elected officials
are accountable to those who eventually elected them.
Education
-CAMP Children’s Link Resource Center is an ongoing project
which started in 2007 and till date we are making sure that many more children
especially the Girl Child has access to education by 2015 in areas where girl
child education is still a taboo, the project this year is in Bethcati Village.
CAMP is also presently
supporting school libraries with archival materials on Cameroon history towards
preserving the rich historic pieces of our country.
This project involves the
gathering of materials, documenting and replicating them and distributing them
to a few pilot school libraries.
Culture and Tourism
In partnership with the United States Ambassadors Fund
for Cultural Preservation, CAMP, the Bimbia Council and the Ministry of Culture
will in the months ahead commence work for the realisation of the project to
Conserve and preserve the Bimbia Slave Trade Village
